On behalf of Canada, Mo Fan Taichi and Wushu Academy competed in this year’s 12th Hong Kong International Wushu competition, with exceptional results from 68 students that attended. 197 regions competed in this year’s competition, with over 2000 athletes!
In total, our school registered for 110 different forms and won 89 Medals, and out of those, 71 were Gold, 15 Silver, and 3 Bronze; with a total of Ten Thousand Dollars worth of prize money!
Eric Liu, Bennie He, Susanna Ng, Drag Lee, Allan Yang, Regan Lam, and Wendy Chin were all named as their category winners. This result is a great honor for both our school and for Canada as well.
The students all performed very well, and their results paid off; the judges presented Mo Fan Taichi and Wushu Academy with the following awards:
1. Best coach award: Mo Fan
2. Best athlete award: Eric Liu
3. Best Southern performance award: Bennie BunBun
4. Elite International wushu award: Kerry Shi
5. Elite International wushu award: Shan Wu
6. Future excellence award: Jared Haines
Additionally, out of all the category winners, we are proud to claim that the ‘King of Kings’ grand championship was taken home by our very own student: Eric Liu.
